FUNBELT products are developed by a team of engineers working in a dedicated design office.
In response to each request, the design office pays close attention to the dictates and constraints of the setting in which the belt conveyor is to operate: climatic conditions, volume of users, gradient, capacity, vandalism, etc., including the consideration of requirements for intra-urban transport.
This detailed analysis allows the refinement of the design process and, where necessary, the deployment of equipment which is capable of resisting extreme weather conditions and the most intensive levels of use.
The Funbelt team was able to tackle the problem of a ski station which, for some time, had been faced with issues of capacity and saturation on two of its dedicated return ski-lifts. The object was to relieve the problem of interminable queues at peak times, particularly during the holiday season.
The chosen solution involved the installation of a covered belt conveyor, with a 22% gradient. Today, this facility is capable of accommodating the full volume of waiting passengers, thereby maintaining a continuous flow of persons in this part of the system.
The operator has also been able to optimize their installation by offering luge activities, once the ski runs have closed.
Standards, accessibility, certification, etc.
FUNBELT is the first maker to offer moving carpet which are suitable for the transport of persons with reduced mobility.
This represents a pro-active and forward-looking approach, as there are no regulations in force to this effect at present. As a member of AFNOR, the French standardization authority, the company has contributed to the drafting and definition of the European standard for mountain station carpet lift.
The company is involved in the development of regulations governing the transport of persons, in collaboration with the competent authorities in France and Europe.
